How did you get into floral work?
Audrey: I was looking for a career that involved creativity, and I have always loved flowers and gardening.
Elizabeth: I moved to the area and drove by the shop. They were hiring interns. I thought flowers would be the perfect job for me.
What do you love most about working with flowers?
Audrey: The variety. There are so many occasions where flowers can make an impact. It’s great being able to help people choose just the right arrangement.
Elizabeth: I love creating beautiful arrangements with flowers, all the different kinds, smells and textures. Hopefully recipients of the flowers enjoy them as much as I do.
Favorite flower?
Audrey: Bearded Iris
Elizabeth: Gardenia
If you design, do you have a signature style? Are you known for any specific approach or preference?
Elizabeth: Yes, my favorite is a stylish grouping of flowers.
What do you love most about being a mom?
Audrey: I love watching my children grow and learn. It’s such an honor to have the opportunity to provide them with all sorts of experiences in life.
Elizabeth: I feel like I was born to be a mom. My girls are my life. They have filled my heart with joy.
What do your kids think about what you do? Are they into flowers?
Audrey: They love coming in to work to see me and love seeing the shop change with the seasons.
Elizabeth: They think I have the perfect job to fit my personality. Especially at dance time; I love sparkle, glitter, feathers . . . all those things.
What flowers or flower design do moms really want for Mother’s Day, from your point of view? Speaking as both a mom and a flower expert? If you could pick one design from your selection to receive yourself, which would it be?
Audrey: What moms really want is something thoughtful from their children. Something that lets them know their child was thinking about them. If mom loves roses, it should be something with roses. If she loves to garden, maybe a mix of blooming plants. If I were to receive a design from our selection, I would choose Sprinkled with Love; it’s garden-like and bright.
Elizabeth: I love the cube style vases that are short and compact.
