Giving Tuesday, a global giving movement is November 28 this year, and we at Zeidler’s Flowers couldn’t be happier about it. Charitable giving is something we take great pride in year-round, an opportunity we also extend to you when you shop flowers with us.
Coming on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a chance to focus our efforts on doing good, lifting our community up, and supporting those institutions that mean the most to us.
One of our favorite ways to do that is through Share the Happy, a program we designed to encourage a spirit of giving and gratitude. It works like this: we distribute flowers to local organizations, and then they give those flowers to their patients, residents, volunteers, and others. If we’re lucky – and we often are – those transactions are captured on camera and appear in social media with the hashtag #ShareTheHappy. We have a gallery of such photos on Facebook – smiling faces delivering and receiving flowers.
We also love to donate items to feature in silent auction fundraisers and to provide centerpieces for large-scale events. For example, we decorate the stage for Honor Flight of Southern Indiana’s annual dinner. And when veterans return from their trips to Washington D.C., we hand them a flower in a warm welcome home.
And we haven’t forgotten about you, either. Our Helping Hands program is the perfect opportunity to give back to those organizations most near and dear to your heart. Simply click the “Helping Hands” menu when you’ve selected your flowers online for purchase and find your favorite institution from the list. The contribution from your purchase will go directly to them. There are so many ways to give, and Zeidler’s Flowers is honored to help you do some giving.
