What do you have planned for Memorial Day?
If you are like most Americans, the day off from work is a rare opportunity for a three day weekend that will not go to waste! Many people will start the day with a local hometown parade, complete streets lined with flag-waving patriots. Others will pack up to head to church or memorial services to remember the fallen with a lowered flag and taps playing in the background. Still others look forward to the yearly grill-out and picnic with family and friends that signifies the unofficial beginning to the long-awaited summer,
For many, however, Memorial Day still means a trip to the cemetery to pay tribute to loved ones by laying flowers on their grave or memorial stone. This tradition has persevered through the nearly 150 years of observance of this holiday; indeed the practice was the inspiration for the original “Decoration Day”, so named because of the decorating of soldiers final resting places after the Civil War. If you are one of those who recognize this solemn tradition, Zeidler’s Flowers is here to help you choose the perfect floral arrangement. With two locations in Evansville and one in Newburgh, our florists are local and ready to assist you in picking our the perfect way to honor your heroes.
Freedom Bouquet
Our most popular arrangement is called A Patriotic Salute , and is a beautiful display of red, white and blue blooms which represent this nation’s pride and heritage. (As this arrangement is in demand at this time of year, we do suggest that you order early). Our Freedom Bouquet and Spirit of America arrangements proudly fly the American flag among the patriotic floral selection, and come in a clear cube or blue vase, respectively. Regardless of which floral arrangement you decide upon, your heroes will be honored and remembered in a way that reflects their character and selfless service to America.
Between the flag waving and steak-grilling, we join with you in remembrance of the brave men and women who gave this country its freedom. Zeidler’s Flowers is proud to be a part of your tribute to them this Memorial Day.
