The birthstone of August is the peridot, an exquisite green gem that ranges in color from lime to
olive green. Regardless of the shade, it is characterized by a yellow-gold tint which overlays the stone
and distinguishes it from the other green gem, the emerald. To celebrate a birthday this month, you
may wish to incorporate greens and yellows, to create a floral representation of this very special
