Giving the Perfect St. Patrick’s Day Flowers

social copySt. Patrick’s Day is an opportunity for celebrating Irish heritage, and for honoring the Patron Saint of Ireland. Early observances involved little more than a religious service and a celebratory feast afterward. It was a day on which Catholics, who were observing Lent, got permission to break the Lenten fast. Today, parades, and festivities at Irish pubs, bars, and cultural organizations characterize the day. Chicago celebrates with a St. Patrick’s Day parade. The city also dyes the Chicago River bright green. It’s quite a sight to behold. Zeidler’s Flowers is making every effort to make sure our customers celebrate this fun day in high style.

If you don’t feel like drinking on St. Patrick’s Day, you can still enjoy a stein of green brew. We took a clear beer glass, filled it with green water, and topped it off with white carnations. We added a bit of whimsical fun with green button daisy pomps. The final accent is a decorative shamrock bearing the words “Happy St. Patrick’s Day.”

St. Patrick used the shamrock as a teaching tool. The three leaves were helpful for explaining the holy trinity. Today, the shamrock is a symbol of Ireland and a sign of good luck. Don’t mistake a shamrock for a four-leaf clover. Share a little Luck o’ the Irish with someone. Give a friend or other special person in your life, a “Shamrock Planter.” The good luck will continue after St. Patrick’s Day. Everyone can use a bit of good luck.

Cheer someone up. Our city’s residents are undoubtedly winter-weary. After far too many winter treats like frigid cold and major snowstorms, we’re sure everyone is anxious for spring. Cheer someone up, and show them that spring’s just around the corner. Our Sunshine Tulip Bouquet will brighten any recipient’s day. You’ll get a wide-eyed smile in return.

Don’t miss the chance to share a little Irish cheer, spread out that “Irish Luck.” St. Patrick’s Day reminds us that spring is just a few days away.
