Zeidler’s Hosts American Cancer Society Daffodil Days Kick-off Breakfast

For News 25 Anchor, Shelley Kirk, the words “You have cancer” were something she never expected. Like many cancer patients, those three words were only the beginning of a long process of treatment to fight this horrible disease.  That’s why Kirk says she’s excited to be part of the American Cancer Society’s 2010 Daffodil Days.  “This spring’s flowers will look even more beautiful to me,” Kirk said. “After a lumpectomy and months of chemo and radiation, I’m ready for a new spring, new daffodils, new hope.”

Daffodil Days is the American Cancer Society’s oldest fundraiser in which the public can give a donation in exchange for a bunch of spring’s first flowers.  With the help of Zeidler’s Floral and Oncology Hematology Associates, Kirk kicked-off the event on Wednesday, January 27th at Zeidler’s Floral on Fulton Avenue. On hand were many area coordinators and volunteers who received their information and direction from the local American Cancer Society representative, Emily Fehrenbacher.  Proceeds from Daffodil donations in the month of February will go to cancer research and patient services in Southwest Indiana.  Anyone interested in purchasing daffodils can go to www.zeidlers.com or call 475.9244 beginning Wednesday, January 27th.

All of us at Zeidler’s feel blessed and honored to help with this wonderful event. We will take pre-orders at all locations, via phone at 421-1234,  and on our website @ www.zeidlers.com. When the daffodils arrive all 4 Zeidler locations will have them available for purchase with ALL sales going back to the charity.
