Exotic Flowers Make Tropical Surroundings

exotic flowersNo one will mistake Evansville for the tropics, but that doesn’t mean that you cannot enjoy all the beauty that a tropical climate offers! This summer, surround yourself with the lush greens, lavish colors, exotic flowers and unique plants that may not be grown here, but can be easily found at Zeidler’s Flowers.

One of the most striking characteristics of the rain forest, as well as other tropical ecosystems around the globe, is the presence of thick, gorgeous greenery – from the floor of the forest to the canopy overhead. Long hot and humid seasons punctuated by heavy rainfall allow for these plants to grow prolifically. Therefore, a great first step in creating your tropical oasis is to choose green tropical potted plants. These plants are naturally hardy and require minimal care, and there are few things on earth that will more beautifully transform a space than the addition of green plants.

Although the flowers that are cultivated in these warm climates may not grow here in our area, there are many flowers that we can add to our homes and offices that have been cultivated, grown and potted for our use and enjoyment. There is probably no exotic flower more deeply coveted than the orchid – its any species and varieties are diverse, rare and gorgeous. The orchid is a traditional bloom to be given as a symbol of love, beauty and luxury; and in the island nations, is often used to fashion the welcoming floral leis given to honored guests. Interspersing these beautiful tropical blossoms with your greenery is sure to create an island ambiance that will inspire daydreams of paradise.

We would love for you to stop by our flower shop to discuss other tropical options for your home or office – bromeliads, red ginger, anthurium or bamboo – there are so many beautiful ways to immerse yourself in the tropics this summer, even if you never leave your backyard.
