Sisterhood and friendship are often one and the same, as siblings become lifelong friends. Who else knows all your secrets dating all the way from childhood?  It seems fitting, therefore, that National Sisters Day and National Friendship Day are both celebrated on the first Sunday in August (August 6th this year).  This day is set aside to recognize these special women, and Zeidler’s Flowers has the beautiful selection of bouquets and arrangements that will communicate just how appreciated she is.

Did You Know? Studies have shown that people who grew up with close sister relationships are happier adults, exhibiting more optimism and showing more charity than those with no sisters. (Sadly, brothers do not seem to offer the same benefits!)

National Friendship Day was instituted by Congress in 1935. Since that time, several other nations around the world have decided to join in. And while National Sisters Day is celebrated on the same day, the origin of this holiday is unknown. Whether she is a best friend who is more like a sister, or a sister who is your best friend – sending flowers will mean so much to her. Which flowers to send?
