Elevate Your Backyard BBQ with These Tips

Coordinate with colors

Choose plates, pitchers, tablecloths, and other decor shades of single color to add style and posh to your bbq party. Or, have neutral tones with a added pop of color from the plates, the cups, or a few of summer’s brightest blooms.

Display flowers in unique ways

Get a little creative with the placement of your flowers. Hang them from the trees, place then in painted tin buckets or cans, or fill mason jars with colorful buds. Other items you can use to put flowers in besides a vase are old teapots, wire baskets, unused birdcages, and lanterns. You will be surprised by how something so simple as this can truly elevate your outdoor style.

Add flower petals to your drinks

For a refreshing delight, put fresh flower petals in drink pitchers. Just be sure the flowers  are pesticide-free. If you’re not sure, just wash them with water before adding them to drinks. Great choices to add to drinks include violet, roses, nasturtium,  and lavender. For drink recipes that include flowers, go here.

Make everyday objects extra special with flowers

Place blooms in a bowl of water for a lovely floating bouquet. Another idea is to put small flowers within an egg shell for a unique and delightful display. Add decorative cut flowers to a paper bag tied with twine and allow guests to take them as parting gifts.

Flowers will elevate and add instant style and a mood of happiness to outdoor events such as a barbeque. Just be sure to choose hardy blooms that hold up under the heat remaining vibrant and perky all day. Good choices include:

Sunflowers

Eucalyptus

Carnations

Wax flowers

Daisies

Lisianthus

Delphinium

Succulents
