Floral Design Day was created in order to celebrate the artistic discipline of flower arranging and design. The observance began as a way to honor Carl Rittner -  the founder of the Rittner School of Floral Design in Boston. It has grown to be a nationwide recognition of his innovative spirit and his legacy throughout the floral industry.
